Genealogy
One of my other hobbies…
I've found ancestor on 13 generations and on 400 years long...
The most ancient ancestor (at 11th generation) for whom I'm sure of the birth date is Philippette Hulet. She was born on October 16th 1601 and is died on April 26th, 1676. She was living in Ohain, a little village in the Wallon Brabant. Her husband was a certain Paul Goffau. I found their traces in a text from 1640 and 1641 because they have sold a piece of ground.
Philippette's parents are Guillaume Heulet and Charlotte Moreau. They were certainly born around or before 1580. Guillaume Heulet's name was found in a document of Feb. 9th 1599, because he buy a piece of ground in Ohain.
Philipette and her parents live in the time of French kings Henry IV, Louis XIII and Louis XIV...
On the AUBRY's side
With the help of Stéphane Herens, from Bruxelles, I 've reached my most ancient identified ancestor in the AUBRY family. He is François AUBRIS. He married Jeanne Catherine. LAMBERT on May 9th 1728, in Obaix, a little village located 8 km south of Nivelles, on the border between Hainaut and Brabant.
François AUBRIS died on October 10th 1774 and Jeanne Catherine LAMBERT on Jan. 29th 1784. She was born on November 12th 1702 in Obaix. On her mother side, she was the grand-daughter of Philippe MORIAU and Marie BAUDE (marriage in Obaix on April 9th 1656).
I Come from one son of François et Jeanne Cattherine: Charles AUBRI. He is born in Obaix on October 1st 1730. He get married on July 17th 1763 in Ohain (Walloon Brabant) with Jeanne Marie CORNET (1742-1817). The family stay in Ohain until World War 2.
My great grand-mother, Marie-Antoinette ORLANS, is death in Ohain in 1944.
Some descendants of Charles AUBRI are still living in Ohain.
My grand-father Antoine AUBRY came in Gembloux around 1920, but the family of his wife, Marie Agnès ANDRIES, lived since 1881 in the La Vôte and Le Culot Corner.

On the SOHY's side
The
SOHY's, my mother family come from Lesve and Fosse, near Namur.
My oldest ancestors on the SOHY side are Jean Joseph SOHY and Anne Marie GENIN (wedding in 1770 probably in Lesves, near Namur).
My grandfather Alexandre
SOHY was Gembloux's last cooper. His cooperage was established in Puit Connette
Street between 1920 and 1969.
