He asked me some questions.

This broadcast was also in the Belgian TV NEWS on Saturday August 3d 2002. Below is the script:

In the city of Ciney, Belgium, 13 "would-be" dangerous dog's breeds are forbidden since a few days. Animal's specialists are against this decision.

Back in Gembloux during an exercise for dogs and their masters from the Chastre-city Dogs Club. Here, perhaps the animal, but certainly the masters, are debating about the decision taken in Ciney to forbid would-be dangerous dogs.

Pierre Aubry, Tervueren Shepherd Valy's Owner:

I think it is not a good decision. Dogs must not be forbidden, but must be trained and most certainly the owners must be educated too. Here, in our club, we have also offered training for people who take the responsibility of a dog. You have 15 years of duties and responsibilities when you own an animal.

After some training days those dog-masters team will receive a sociability certificate, if they succeed in tests. A dog can always learn the good reactions and behavior in stressful situations.

Bruno Barras, Chastre-city Dogs club President and Instructor:

We learn dogs in going through tunnels, climbing in trains, walking in heavy street traffic... We teach others dogs respect and positive attitudes toward people. That means people are not aggressors but inoffensive and normal walkers.

Conclusion, dog's attitude is in strong relation with master's will.

Stephanie Wauters, German Shepherd Zoom's owner:

If I want a dog, I must fully assume him. So when I come back home, we do a one-hour walk and twice a week we go to the Training Club. I never miss this. My objective is to take care of my dog and give him a good education.
